Data security and privacy issues have attracted the attention of the entire international community today. Within the next few years, the attention of privacy has become a subject to be depth discussed. One of the fundamental reasons for this discussion is that data security and privacy involve the entire world community to create a situation where the existing boundaries in society and the country are faded or borderless. It can be interpreted that ‘borderless’ is not only indicated by the borderless state or borderless law because this new era can remove boundaries in all aspects, both in terms of community behavior and state administration.
When the protection of privacy and data security is relevant with society 5.0. As is known, society 5.0 is a concept of human-centered and technology-based which was developed by Japan. In this era, the role of humans is prioritized as responsible for the use of these technologies.
To access the technology today often requires personal data, such as when people use some application from the internet. Therefore, it is necessary to have protection for every personal data when everyone accesses the technology. It is because of the leakage risk of personal data that can be misused by people who are not responsible. In this case, humans are responsible for protecting personal data from being leaked and misused. Therefore, it is hoped that everyone in the 5.0 era society will take a role to be responsible for the protection of personal data.
This is the International Conference on Fundamental Rights or I-COFFEES’s background to raise the theme “Privacy in the New Era”. The I-COFFEES 2021 event is the third event, starting in 2018, being held again in 2019, and being held again in 2021. In 2019, I-COFFEES collaborated with various agencies, national companies, and state-owned companies. The held of I-COFFEES 2021 with the theme “Privacy In The New Era” will compile various researches and thoughts from various parties related to themes and discuss issues regarding privacy, data protection, etc. Then, the research and thoughts’ results are expected to become a reference in preparing for the Era of Society 5.0.
The conference will be held on November 9, 2021 at Swiss Belhotel, Bandar Lampung and also via Zoom Meeting, This Conference will present 5 international speaker and 1 local speaker.
